About

A clinic built around a counter

Mortar is an acupuncture clinic with a pharmacy built into it, so the person who writes your formula is down the hall from the person who weighs it. Acupuncture happens in the treatment rooms; the herbs live in the back, in jars and drawers.

We keep the clinic small on purpose. You see the same people, and you can ask the pharmacy anything about what is in your formula.

  • Three licensed practitioners

  • One herb pharmacy, steps from the front desk

  • A written plan and a written estimate before herbs are packed

Who you will see

Each of us is licensed by the State of Texas.

Quang writes every formula and is at the pharmacy counter most days. He holds the Diplomate of Chinese Herbology (Dipl. C.H.) from NCBAHM, formerly NCCAOM.

  • Araxi Garabedian, a licensed acupuncturist with long dark wavy hair, in a sage-green tunic in a treatment room

    Araxi Garabedian

    Licensed acupuncturist

    • Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.) · TX Lic. 000000

Araxi sees patients for acupuncture and cupping. She goes through your list of medicines with you before the first treatment, and asks Quang whether a formula fits.

    James Lundgren

    Licensed acupuncturist

    • Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.) · TX Lic. 000000
